In the run-up to Easter, several venues are hosting parties and celebrations to mark the season, along with numerous live music shows on throughout the week.
This week also sees Firestorm launch, a new short film festival that is set to take pride of place in The Arc Cinema at the end of each month, and a movie-themed quiz hosted by Preston Pulse’s Rory over at Chew’s Yard.

Tuesday 24 March
The Ferret
The Electronic Music Open Mic, or EMOM as it’s affectionately nicknamed, is back at The Ferret. A welcoming and inclusive event for musicians from across the broad spectrum of the open-ended Electronic category. Performers can book up to 20-minute slots before with a number of walk-in spots available on the night.
Wednesday 25 March
The Greats’ Room, Preston North End FC
Community Connect is set to be a quarterly gathering of local professionals, business enthusiasts, and entrepreneurs. The event will include introductions, panel discussions, and guest speakers, with the hope of connecting individuals in the community.

The Ferret

Proper Oscars Quiz at Chew’s Yard

Rory from Preston Pulse will be hosting a movie themed qui night at Chew’s Yard on Thursday. Settle in for a night of fun, food, and laughs, and test your movie knowledge.

Deafway
Deafway is hosting a proper hoedown right here in Lancashire. The night will feature line dancing, music, and an American-style buffet to get immersed in the culture.
Lancashire Firestorm Launch Night – Short Film Showcase
The Arc Cinema
The Lancashire Film Network is launching a brand new monthly short film showcase right here in the heart of Preston. Several short films from the LFN’s previous events will be on display celebrating incredible local talent and the art of film.
Uptown Discotheque presents feel-good disco & uplifting house
Chew’s Yard
Brian Hudson is back at Chew’s Yard with an incredible setlist to perform and get the party started. Entry is free, and you can learn more about the artist and venue at the link above.
The Ferret
On Friday, The Ferret welcomes another three bands, this time in the indie genre. Free entry, 14+ welcome with under 18s being accompanied by an adult, and learn more about the acts at the link.
The Continental
Whitesnake may have retired from live performances, but Whitesnake UK is the tribute act that fills the gap. Their performance has been widely praised and viewed across the UK and beyond.
Saturday 28 March
Chew’s Yard
Celebrate Easter in style at Chew’s Yard with their open Easter Market. With music, crafts, activities, and traders all gathering at the unique location, this is a perfect day out for the whole family.
Buzz Cadillac and the Lightning Rods live
Chew’s Yard
And during that Easter Market, there will be live music performed by two groups throughout the day from 2pm onward. Buzz Cadillac and the Lightning Rods will be performing classic rock and pop songs that make it perfect for the setting.
At1 Records Presents NayBarr B2B Scon
Chew’s Yard
Naybarr and Scon will be taking over the venue in the evening with a playlist that includes House, Techno House, and UK Garage sounds.

Chew’s Yard will also be hosting a chess tournament in the evening, for anyone looking to test their skills and try their hand at the more competitive side of chess.
Longridge Lamplight 10k Charity Trail Run
Ribble View Farm
The Longridge Lamplight 10k promises to be an unforgettable evening running through scenic settings alongside the River Ribble while also supporting a good cause.

Artch Studios
Get energised with a session of yoga in this unique venue. The class will be run by Claire Marie Yoga, and will be inclusive and open to all ages, genders, and skill levels.
Samlesbury Hall
Paul Howse is hosting a special spooky guided tour of Samlesbury Hall, revealing some of the tall tales associated with the Hall itself and the surrounding grounds.
Shake yer Hips DJs Ronnie Brown & Dave Hamer pinning R&B, 60s Soul, Motown, Mod, Ska, Northern Soul

Artch Studios
Artch Studios is putting the spotlight on local talent in their special themed event, Next Act. The event runs throughout the afternoon and into the evening, with a wide range of performers delivering 30-minute sets around the theme of Disney.
Preston Symphony Orchestra with guest soloist Martin Roscoe
St. Michaels Church of England High School
Preston Symphony Orchestra’s first concert of 2026 features the renowned UK concert pianist Martin Roscoe. Martin is going to perform one of the most well-known concertos, Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor.
Hellfire Preachers: Greenwich Village & the Folk Revival
The Continental
A musical act focusing on the folk revival of the 1960s. The program will feature traditional folk and Old Timey Country and Blues music with a variety of songs from the biggest legends of the era.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man
The Arc Cinema
Peaky Blinders has been a huge hit series for Netflix, but now, as the story comes to a close, this milestone event in the story is set to appear on the big screen. Across the UK, there are only a handful of theaters playing the film, and The Arc Cinema Preston is part of that two-week exclusive window before the film arrives on Netflix.

Lancashire Film Network is putting on a special short film showcase at The Arc Cinema. This event is set to return on the last Friday of each month, and highlight some of the most remarkable films from recent local film festivals.

Scream Unseen is a variant of this same showcase, with a focus on horror films only.
