A touring arts programme will bring live music, theatre and storytelling to venues in Garstang, Longridge and Bleasdale this spring.
Spot On Lancashire has announced its Spring 2026 programme, which sees professional performers touring libraries and community venues across the county. Several of the events will take place in and around Preston, giving local audiences the chance to experience live arts close to home.
Bluegrass night in Garstang
High-energy bluegrass band Old Baby Mackerel will perform at Garstang Library on Tuesday 24 March.
With banjo, mandolin, guitar, and double bass, their driving rhythms, blistering solos, and sweet harmonies transport audiences back to early 20th-century North America, where stories of love, locomotion, and local legends come alive.
The band are known for their foot-stomping mix of banjo, mandolin, guitar and double bass, recreating the driving rhythms and harmonies of early 20th-century North American bluegrass. They have performed at major festivals across the UK and Europe, including Glastonbury and Latitude.
Interactive theatre in Bleasdale
Manchester company Just Some Theatre will bring their interactive dark comedy thriller Eyes Down to Bleasdale on Friday 24 April.
The audience is invited to play real games of bingo – complete with prizes – in an edge-of-your-seat experience that mixes humour and suspense. The show has been commissioned for rural and library audiences as part of a UK-wide programme called Create|Tour|Connect, which aims to support the regional creation and touring of new theatre and drama.
Myth-inspired storytelling in Longridge
Storytelling duo Lucy Lill and Sarah Liisa Wilkinson will perform Queen of Between at Longridge Library on Friday 8 May.
The show weaves immersive tales inspired by Hecate, the many-shaped goddess of birth, death, witches, weasels, hellhounds, crossroads, thresholds, and ghosts. The duo explore letting go, moving on, and the magic of thresholds in a playful, myth-infused performance.
