Sighting of stolen dog focuses police search on stretch of the M55
Police are focusing their search for a stolen dog on a stretch of the M55.
Lancashire Police are continuing to search for much-loved family pet Mabel.
The 18-month-old cocker spaniel was reported as stolen from her home at Inskip by her heartbroken and desperate family who have been appealing via social media for her safe return.
Police say the theft is understood to have taken place around 11am on Friday 10 April.

Sergeant Dan Wilson of Fleetwood Police said: “Our enquiries at present are focused around M55 corridor specifically Junction 3 (Kirkham) where a witness is believed to have seen a dog, possibly Mabel, being chased and put into a white van later the same day Mabel was found to be missing.
“As our investigation continues, we look to the public for any information they may be able to offer to help us find Mabel and to return her home safely to her loving family.”
