The outdoor finale of three weeks of live music in venues across the city has been moved under cover.
Preston Jazz and Improv Music Festival was due to see an afternoon of live music in Winckley Square for Lancashire Sounds Live on Saturday (6 June).
But organisers have decided to relocate due to the weather forecast with the Met Office showing rain throughout the day with 70 per cent chance of showers during Saturday afternoon before it clears in the late evening.

The Ferret in Fylde Road was due to be the after-party venue but has stepped in to host the show inside including recently confirmed headliner Charlotte OC who hails from Blackburn.
Festival director Tony Rigg said: “Charlotte OC is one of Lancashire’s most distinctive and accomplished
contemporary artists. To have her joining us to close the 2026 Festival Finale is incredibly exciting and a real privilege for the festival.
“The finale is all about celebrating Lancashire’s sounds, people, places and scenes. Charlotte’s story, artistry and connection to the region make her a perfect artist to bring this year’s festival to a close.”
It’s free entry to The Ferret from 1pm with Dobbo kicking off proceedings at 1.15pm, Gary Culshaw and John Bailey from 2.15pm, Persimmon from 3pm before Charlotte OC at 4pm.
The after-party follows with DJs BOLTS, Mr Breen and Jazzin The Park, Persimmon, BCUC and DJs through until 1.30am.
Last year’s festival was also disrupted by the weather with festival organisers having to relocate into 53 Degrees for one of the Winckley Square concerts they had planned.
This year’s festival has seen a significant uplift in events and acts as it’s seen increased funding from Arts Council England, Preston City Council, Lancashire County Council, the University of Lancashire and the Lancashire Music Association amongst others.
