The Pretoria High Court has issued a warrant of arrest for cultural activist and media personality Ngizwe Mchunu.
The court has ordered that he be arrested and detained in prison for ten days after he was found guilty of contempt of court.
This follows a civil defamation application brought by Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema against Mchunu over defamatory remarks he allegedly made outside the Union Building in April, which went viral on social media.

Mchunu had accused Malema of protecting undocumented foreign nationals and of allegedly receiving payments from Nigerian drug cartels amounting to R60 million.
The court ruled in favour of Malema, ordering Mchunu to issue a public apology.
