An investigation into a city centre crash is ongoing and a police hunt for the driver continues.

Police were called to Church Street at around 7.45pm on Friday evening (12 June) after a car came around the corner from Lancaster Road onto Church Street, seemingly losing control and smashing into a lamppost outside the newly-opened club Bamboogy.

Witnesses, many of whom were sat at the front of the nearby Twelve Tellers Wetherspoons, were able to watch the entire incident take place – including the sight of the driver of the car fleeing the scene before police could arrive.
