Members of a Preston community choir are inviting everyone interested in learning to sing to join their free session.
Illumination Community Choir in Preston was set up to help those living with visual impairments join a choir.
By avoiding the use of music notation and singing songs that can be learned without printed lyrics.
They also communicate the entry points, speed, and pitch of the songs through speech.
The Sing with Illumination will take place on Friday, 26 June at Central Methodist Church in Preston City Centre.

Jon Aveyard from Preston Music Workshops said: “No experience is required, all levels of ability are welcome, and there is no music reading.
“Friends and family are welcome to join the session for the final fifteen minutes, when the group will sing them some of the songs they have been learning.”
The choir has been running since 2024 and was set up through the use of seed funding from the Galloways Society with the support of the church.
No booking is required for the event, and you can contact JonAveyard1@gmail.com for more information.
