A man has been interviewed by police in connection with an attack on a mum-of-four at the city’s cemetery.

Blog Preston revealed in March how Kimberley Scanlan had been set upon while walking her children home from school.

The 33-year-old bravely waived her right to anonymity after having her breasts grabbed and being punched in the face after a man got out of his car and attacked her while she was walking through the Cemetery near the New Hall Lane exit.

He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries. No arrests have been made.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting log 1025 of 19th March.

Kimberley criticised the police’s initial response, saying she had been to the Cemetery offices to try and retrieve CCTV herself.

Womens charities, Hope Prevails Preston, said it was unacceptable she had been left in this position and a security review of the cemetery was also undertaken by Preston City Council after we reported on the attack.
