Armed police were in Lostock Hall to respond to reports coming from a pub that a man was carrying a gun.
Police were called just before 8pm on Monday evening (6 July) to reports that a man had been seen with a gun at the Pleasant Retreat on Watkin Lane in Lostock Hall.
Officers from Lancashire Constabulary, including armed officers, rushed to the pub and a man was later arrested close to Lostock Hall Recreation Ground on Croston Road, which is close to the pub.

A man from Chorley, 35, remains in custody on Tuesday morning (7 July) on suspicion of possession of a firearm. A BB gun has been recovered.
A spokesperson for police said: “We were called at shortly before 8pm yesterday to a report that a man had been seen with what was believed to be a firearm at a pub on Watkin Lane in Lostock Hall.
“Officers, including armed officers, attended and a man was arrested a short time later on Croston Road without incident.
“A man aged 35 from Chorley remains in custody on suspicion of possession of a firearm. A BB gun has been recovered.
“We would like to thank those affected for their co-operation while we dealt with this fast-moving incident.”
