A body has been found in the search for a missing man from Bamber Bridge.
David Henry, 45, was last seen at the corner of Brindle Road and Cottage Lane on Wednesday,15 July. The news that he was missing sparked a strong reaction from the local community, with friends and family contributing to the search efforts.
Lancashire Constabulary has on Friday evening (24 July) confirmed that a body has been found and that David’s family have been informed.
A spokesperson for police said: “We have a very sad update to bring you regarding our search for missing David Henry.
“Around 7pm tonight we were called to woodland off Shuttling Fields Lane, Bamber Bridge, to a report that a man had been found deceased.
“Although formal identification has yet to take place, we believe it to be the body of 45-year-old David. His family have been informed and are being supported by our officers.
“David’s death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be passed in due course to HM Coroner.
“This is not the outcome anyone wanted, and our thoughts are very much with David’s family, loved ones and friends at this extremely distressing time.
“We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeals and our partner agencies who assisted with the search for David.”
