A lorry had overturned and a closure had to be put in place. Police said that it will be in place for some time.

Part of the interchange roundabout was closed as a result of the crash. It means that leaving the M61 northbound for the M65 was blocked.
A spokesperson for police said: “We want to update you and let you know that due to a road traffic collision the slip road from J9 of the M61 to J2 of the M65 is currently closed.
“This is at the Clayton Brook interchange.
“Due to this closure, travel from the M65 J2 to the M61 northbound is also currently closed.
“Traffic heading eastbound on the M65 should remain unaffected both joining the M61 north or south.
“We anticipate that it will be closed for some time, whilst we assess the situation.
“Diversions will be in place, however we’d recommend looking for an alternative route and avoiding the area.”
