A Coppull home which was shut down by police over concerns for noise and drug will stay closed for an extra three months.
A closure order for the house, on Poplar Drive, was granted at Lancaster Magistrates Court in March in response to a request from Chorley’s neighbourhood policing team at Lancashire Constabulary.
According to the team the closure was in response to “a series of incidents that caused significant disruption to the community”. It was initially granted for three months and police say reports of anti-social behaviour in the area have fallen, providing much-needed reassurance to local residents.

An extension of three months has now been approved. PC Georgina Anson, of Chorley’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We know the impact anti-social behaviour can have on people’s lives, and we want residents to know that we are listening and taking action alongside our partners.
“The closure order has already made a difference to those living nearby, with a significant reduction in the anti-social behaviour that was causing concern.
“By securing this extension, we can continue to protect the community, prevent further disruption and help ensure local people feel safe and supported in their neighbourhood.”
