Bowker Motor Group is set to open a new showroom on Preston Docks for the latest Chinese car brand to enter the UK market.

LEPAS is a new electric car brand, with dealerships set to open in Preston and Blackburn this summer.

LEPAS will launch in the UK with a model range focused on hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles. First to launch will be the LEPAS L8 premium SUV and will be followed in by the arrival of the L6 midsize SUV and the L4 SUV.

John Nichol, head of business at Bowker, said: “It’s always exciting to be involved in the launch of a completely new automotive brand. LEPAS brings something different to the market, with electrified vehicles, distinctive design and real elegance. We’re looking forward to welcoming customers to both locations and introducing them to the brand.”

Bowker Motor Group’s appointment as a LEPAS retail partner follows the recent expansion of its relationship with Chery International, the parent company of LEPAS, through the opening of a CHERY dealership in Preston. LEPAS becomes the latest Chery International brand to join the group’s portfolio, alongside OMODA, JAECOO and CHERY.

Sales of Chinese cars in the UK have disrupted the dominance of established automotive brands over the past couple of years.
