A new screen adaptation of acclaimed drama The Knot is coming to Preston.
The film is being shown at The Continental as part of a Lancashire tour where tickets are available for free or on a ‘pay what you can’ basis.
Created by Certain Curtain Theatre, The Knot is described as a striking and emotionally charged drama that explores the complex realities of domestic abuse and substance misuse.
Now filmed for cinema audiences, the adaptation is said to retain the immediacy and impact of the live performance, bringing viewers closer to the raw stories at its heart.
Each screening will be followed by a live Q&A session with director Claire Moore, offering audiences the chance to reflect, ask questions, and engage more deeply with the themes explored in the film.

Claire said: “We are so excited to share this new film, which we were only able to do thanks to our crowdfund supporters as well as support from Preston City Council, Lancashire County Council and the Lancashire Police Crime Commissioner.
“The play won a BBC Alfred Bradley Special Award and will now have a lasting legacy as a film and a unique training package to reach audiences globally.”
The Knot is on at The Continental in Broadgate on Thursday 16 July at 7pm. Tickets are available from Zeffy.
