A Preston law firm has raised £1,260 by taking part in the national Will Aid campaign.

Adkirk Law Solicitors, based in Ashton-on-Ribble, has supported Will Aid since 2024 and has now raised more than £2,000 for the charity through the initiative.

Rather than charging its usual fees for basic wills, the firm invited clients to make a donation to Will Aid, which helps people access affordable, professionally drafted wills.

Hannah Phoenix from the firm said: “We’re proud to support Will Aid each year – it’s a great opportunity to help our clients plan for the future while also raising funds for incredibly important causes.

“It’s always a real team effort, and everyone gets behind the campaign. Knowing that the work we do during the campaign has a wider impact beyond our day-to-day role makes it especially rewarding.

“The funds raised will go on to support people facing difficult circumstances, both here in the UK and around the world, which makes taking part all the more meaningful.”

Will Aid runs every November, giving people the opportunity to have a professionally written will in exchange for a voluntary donation instead of paying the solicitor’s usual fee.

Lauren Poole, Chair of Will Aid, praised the firm’s efforts and said: “Congratulations to the team on raising such a fantastic amount.

“It’s always inspiring to see firms come together to support Will Aid, giving their time and expertise to help clients while raising vital funds for our partner charities.”
