Hundreds of walkers took to the sands of Morecambe Bay last month to support local cancer patients.
Rosemere Cancer Foundation Cross Bay Walk raised more than £20,000 and sold out three times over.
Demand for places was so high that the charity had to make repeated requests for additional allocations ahead of the event, with all extra spaces quickly snapped up.

In total, 335 walkers, ranging from young children to older adults, gathered at Arnside Pier before setting off at 4pm on the crossing to Kents Bank.
Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s Fundraising Assistant Hannah Leahy said the overwhelming response had surpassed all expectations.
“When we were first given the date and time slot for this year’s walk, we weren’t to know how popular it would be because of its later afternoon start,” she said. “To have had to request extra places more than once, and then see so many people turn out to support Rosemere, is absolutely fantastic.
“We would like to thank everyone who joined us on the walk. We are especially grateful to Michael for leading us safely across the bay and through the River Kent, and to our event sponsor, Leyland Beds & Furniture, for their valued support.”
Funds raised from this year’s event will support Rosemere Cancer Foundation projects that enhance cancer treatment, care and support for patients and their families across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
