The family of a man who died following a road traffic collision on the A472 have paid tribute to him.

Gwent Police has named the passenger who died after the collision on Saturday 24 October as Craig Assirati, known as ‘Boney’ to his friends and loved ones.

His wife described him as her “soul mate and best friend”, adding that the “loss will be too much to bear” and that he will be her “forever and always.”

His parents described him as their “mischievous, naughty boy” who they miss and love “more than anything.”

His children said he was not just their dad but their best friend, who taught them to enjoy life to the max.

In a full tribute, the family said: “Craig was a weird and wonderful human, life and soul of every party and always unapologetically himself.”

“He lived life to the very fullest – from being a much-loved husband, dad, son, brother to Brett and Dane, the fun uncle, friend and everything in between. He loved his family and friends deeply and would be there for anyone who needed it at the drop of a hat.

“He had a passion and love for bikes, quads, cars anything with wheels and holidays with endless adventures. Any activity you can think of he would be up for doing, he grabbed life with both hands and rode off with it.

“Our lovable rogue, a genuine, caring and kind soul who will be deeply missed by everyone. We love you so, so much our very own Peter Pan.”

The family continue to be supported by specialist officers while enquiries are ongoing.
