A 16-year-old boy has been stabbed twice at an “out-of-control” house party in Brookdale, in Perth’s south-east.
Courage Wreh was stabbed in the front and back of his chest when he tried to intervene as some partygoers were allegedly robbed of their shoes and phones on Saturday night.
He was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital with a punctured lung.
His sister, Edith Wreh, said the Year 12 student had been one of 50 people invited to the 17th birthday party.
Only an hour in, she said people started to gatecrash – some as young as 10 – with over 150 people soon spilling out of the home.
The party host told 9News that Courage was trying to help her as she called police when the incident took place.
“If god wasn’t on his side he would have been six feet under,” Edith said.
“We would have been having Christmas burying someone.”
His family is calling for the person responsible to hand themselves into police.
“He is having trouble breathing, he is having trouble talking with short breath,” Edith said.
Courage will remain in hospital for weeks to come.
