Two years after his emergence into the music space, Asake has been crowned the 2023 Headies Next Rated award-winner at the 16th edition of the Headies Award held in Atlanta, United States, on Sunday, September 3, 2023.
The 28-year-old music star beat the likes of Seyi Vibez, Victony, Spyro, and Young Jonn. BNXN, who had won last year, went home with a 2022 Bentley Bentayga worth over ₦75 million.
Asake reached an all-time high in the music space in 2021 after he released his hit single ‘Omo Ope,’ and later on signed with YBNL, a leading Nigeria record label with Fireboy DML as a signee.
Since he was signed he has set and broken records as he joined an a-list set of artistes to sell out the 20-000 capacity 02 Arena while earning BET nominations and releasing hit singles like Palazzo, Lonely At The Top, Peace Be Unto You, Amapiano, that have gone on to become international anthems.
Although he blew in 2022, fans of the artiste who have known him since he was an aspiring music star taking over the mini stages in OAU know he deserves this win.
