Kirah was just 10 years old when she survived a horrifying crime.
Two decades on, she is confronted with the prospect her attacker may have struck again.
Allan Hopkins, the man convicted of raping Kirah, is now wanted in South Australia for an alleged sex crime against a child.
An urgent alert was issued on Monday night and he has yet to be found.
“That was my biggest fear, always, that someone else would have to go through the exact same thing because of the same person and I never wanted that,” Kirah said about the new allegations.
“It just breaks my heart that now someone else has to relive that.”
Hopkins was robbing Kirah’s home in the Adelaide suburb of Paralowie in 2007 when he found her asleep, abducted her and raped her.
“I honestly thought I was going to die,” she said.
During the horrifying ordeal, Kirah caught a glimpse of an eyebrow piercing, which helped lead to Hopkins’ capture.
After pleading guilty, he was sentenced to a minimum of eight-and-a-half years in jail.
Police have not detailed what the latest allegation against Hopkins is and were unable to provide an update late today on where he might be.
But Kirah wants all South Australians to be on the alert.
“As protectors of children, we all need to rally together,” she said.
Hopkins was last seen driving a Mazda ute but after the tiny detail Kirah noticed as a child, she said any small piece of information could be the thing that leads to his arrest.
“I just hope he knows that his day will come,” she said.
Hopkins is described as Caucasian with short brown hair and brown eyes and is 185 centimetres tall with a solid build.
He has a skull tattoo on his upper right arm.
He is believed to be driving a grey 2022 Mazda BT50 ute with South Australian registration XC101T.
