The feud between the senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti- Uduaghan, and the President of the senate, Godswill Akpabio took a dramatic turn over the weekend after Akpabio’s wife, Ekaite dismissed allegations that her husband, sexually harrassed Natasha Akpoti during a press conference in Abuja,
Ekaite described Akpabio as a
disciplined and responsible man who will not disrespect her and their children.
Akpabio’s wife filed multiple lawsuits against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan at the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking 250 billion naira in damages.
She accused Akpoti-Uduaghan of defamation and violation of her husband’s fundamental rights.
She is also demanding a perpetual injunction to stop further accusations.
Dozens of women in Akwa Ibom staged a protest against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan following her accusation of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The protesters, chanting solidarity songs, expressed their displeasure over what they described as an insult to the Senate President, whom they referred to as their son.
Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has asked Akpabio’s wife to refrain from getting involved in the allegations of sexual advances against her husband.
In a letter dated March 1st,the Kogi senator, through, her lawyer, told Akpabio’s wife to consider her sanity and allow Akpabio defend himself against the allegations.
Over the weekend, Nigerian-born American football star Moro Ojomo who is the 2025 National Football League, Super Bowl winner with Philadelphia Eagles, visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa.
During the visit, Ojomo reaffirmed his connection to his Nigerian heritage and called on athletes with Nigerian ancestry abroad to invest back in their country.
