Nigeria National League (NNL) club Heartland have announced the appointment of Emmanuel Amuneke as their new head coach.

Emmanuel Amuneke’s unveiling took place at the office of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma on Monday, August 5.

Heartland faced relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last season, finishing in the 18th position on the table. However, there are ongoing discussions about Heartland potentially acquiring the NPFL slot of the newly promoted Beyond Limits Academy.

Fidelis Ilechukwu Sure Of Rangers’ Fate

Rangers technical adviser Fidelis Ilechukwu has expressed confidence that his side will achieve their objectives in the upcoming 2024/25 season.

The coach said he and his players possess all the necessary qualities to have another successful campaign.

“Our fans should not panic about the result because it was a pre-season game,” the NPFL coach of the season told reporters in Enugu.

“We use the pre-season game to assess the team’s cohesion, technical, and tactical abilities, it may not be possible during the season proper.

“I assure our fans that we shall achieve all we want in the season because we have what it takes to do so.”

Recall that Enugu Rangers are the reigning champions of the NPFL and they will compete in the CAF Champions League next season.

Currently, the Flying Antelopes are participating in a pre-season tournament in Enugu, where Ilechukwu explained that the purpose of the pre-season games is to evaluate the team’s cohesion, technical capabilities, and tactics.

According to a statement on the club’s X page, the tournament will provide an opportunity for coach Finidi George’s side to assess the players ahead of the new season.

Recently, Rivers United returned from a pre-season tournament in Ikenne and will kick off their NPFL campaign next season with a match against Bendel Insurance.
