
A prominent pub on the edge of Bamber Bridge will close next week for a renovation project to take place.
The Poachers, a Hungry Horse pub at the crossroads with Sainsbury’s and B&Q on Lostock Lane, will close from 19 May and is set to reopen in June.
The renovation will see a refurbishment of the bar area, a completely new function room, and is aiming for stylish seating and a warmer ambiance.

There will be a new darts board, additional TV screens and improved toilets. The outdoor area will see new fencing and better furniture.
A spokesperson for Greene King, who owns the Hungry Horse brand, said: “Works will include a number of enhancements to the Poachers’ interior including a refurbishment to the bar area and a complete revamp of the pub’s function room, with stylish seating and lighting creating a warmer, more comfortable ambiance for guests. The venue will install new dart boards and additional TV screens, providing guests with top-notch entertainment that can be enjoyed at any time of day. The Poachers is also upgrading its toilets, providing customers with a more modern look and feel.
“The outdoor area will be transformed with new fencing, upgraded furniture and the introduction of an outdoor TV screen showing live sports matches, creating the perfect garden space for sports enthusiasts to keep up with the latest fixtures whilst enjoying the summer sunshine.”
