A Fulwood charity shop manager is inviting people to hit the dancefloor for an afternoon of music and fundraising in support of St Catherine’s Hospice.
Heather Crabtree works at the charity’s shop in Black Bull Lane, but her connection to the hospice goes back much further.
She said: “I’ve seen first-hand the incredible care provided to my own friends and family. It costs £7.7 million to run the hospice each year. The charity needs to raise most of that through the generosity of supporters.
“So I just thought, ‘You know what, I like to dance and drink but don’t like late nights – why not organise one of those adult discos?’ I figured I can be home in my PJs by 8pm and raise some money for the hospice at the same time.”

The Day Disco will take place on Saturday 13 June from 3pm to 7pm at BAC/EE Social and Sports Club in Broadgate.
Tickets cost £10 and can be bought from the St Catherine’s Hospice shop at 109 Black Bull Lane in Fulwood. They can also be purchased over the phone by calling 01772 379020.
Heather added: “We’ll be playing all the classics you want to hear and finishing at a time when you can be home and in your comfies without feeling bad the next day.
“So dust off your dancing shoes and come along to support this great cause.”
