Lanes were closed and there were severe delays on the M6 to start the week due to a crash close to Wigan.
Emergency services were called to the M6 between junction 26 for the M58 and junction 25 for Wigan on the northbound carriageway before 6.40am on Monday morning (8 June).
Lanes 2, 3 and 4 were closed due to the aftermath of the crash.

Traffic England reported severe delays on approach and congestion was snaking back towards junction 23.
A spokesperson for National Highways said: “Lanes 2,3 and 4 (of 4) are currently closed northbound on the M6 in Greater Manchester between J25 Wigan -J26 M58Junction following a collision.
“Emergency services are on scene. There are delays in excess of 20 minutes on the approach.”
