The A483 southbound is closed between the Welsh border at Pulford and Junction 7 at Rossett, near Wrexham, following a crash this morning (Wednesday 28 October).

Traffic Wales North posted at 7.07am that the road was blocked due to a collision, with emergency services at the scene. It urged drivers to find an alternative route and warned delays were expected.

North Wales Police also said the southbound carriageway at Junction 7 was closed and would be closed “for some time”, asking drivers to find alternative routes.

At about 8.30am, the traffic.wales website was still listing the incident as “road closed” with “long delays”. No reopening time has been announced.

Details of what happened have not been confirmed by the emergency services.

What drivers should do

Avoid the area if you can and allow extra time if you have to travel. Plan an alternative route and check Traffic Wales or your sat nav before setting off. Follow any signs and instructions from officers at the scene.

Other disruption

Separately, a 30mph speed limit remains in force in both directions on the A55 Britannia Bridge because of high winds. Traffic Wales says it has been in place since 27 October and will stay “until further notice”.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
