Two people have been arrested in Limpopo for election-related offences, including the removal of election posters and intimidation.

Police spokesperson Hlulani Mashaba says a man was arrested in Mankweng, near Polokwane, for allegedly removing election posters.

Another suspect was arrested in Sekhukhune on charges of assault and intimidation.

Mashaba says the suspect allegedly took a political party T-shirt from a supporter by force and burnt it.

Mashaba further adds, “In the first incident, a male suspect was arrested in the Mankweng policing area for allegedly unlawfully removing election posters. A case was therefore registered at Mankweng Police Station; the accused has since appeared in court, and he was remanded to the 30th of November 2026.”

“In a separate incident, another male suspect was arrested in Sekhukhune district in connection with an assault and intimidation case. It is alleged that the complainant’s political party T-shirt was forcibly removed and subsequently set alight,” says Mashaba.
