It guides government plans, enables societal development, protects the environment, and improves productivity. Now AI has such a significant impact on the world as we know it, we can’t afford to take risks with ethics.
The good news is people are widely recognizing the demand for more ethical creations and responding in kind. Discussions are emerging in almost every landscape about how ethics should be implemented into future systems. An Ex-Google AI chief even recommended stopping innovation until we have the right ethics strategy in place.
Where is Ethical AI Heading?
For years, companies have been discussing the concept of ethical AI and what it should mean. MIT cosmologist Max Tegmark, Skype co-founder Jaan Tallin, and DeepMind scientist Victoria Krakovna created the Asilomar AI principles.
The EU created its “Coordinated Plan for AI in 2021” and launched a dedicated group to help analyse the ethical implications AI for policy creation purposes. We’ve even got the “Ubuntu philosophy”, acting as guidance on what AI ethics might look like. […]
